Anna-Ruth began playing the violin at the age of 5 and gave her first full recital the following year. At the mere age of 10, she made her solo debut with orchestra and since then has performed on numerous stages and venues including Seattle’s Opera House, Benaroya Hall, the Key Arena, Safeco Field, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. This past June, Anna-Ruth was selected to perform with David Foster in the "David Foster & Friends" concert at the Museum of Flight's 50th Anniversary Gala.
As a graduate from the prestigious Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, Anna-Ruth has had the privilege of studying under the world-renowned “Jascha Heifetz Distinguished Chair pedagogue” Robert Lipsett. In addition, Boyce has collaborated and received instruction from master musicians including Joseph Silverstein, Ronald Leonard, Paul Coletti, John Perry, Lydia Mordkovitch, and Josef Rissin. In 2009, Boyce soloed with the Colburn Orchestra for a series of outreach concerts in the Los Angeles area, and attended the Holland International Music Sessions where she made her European debut recital.
Growing up in the Seattle area, Anna-Ruth soloed with several orchestras and served as concertmaster of the Seattle Youth Symphony where she was admitted into the top orchestra at the age of 13. Named a “Dorothy Richard Starling Violin Scholar”, Boyce was featured extensively in concerts and on the radio, including “A Tribute to Dorothy Delay” on Seattle’s King FM 98.1 and a recital at Benaroya’s Nordstrom Recital Hall. Anna-Ruth studied under the tutelage of Margaret Pressley and in 2002, was awarded the Starling Violin Scholar- a full scholarship grant towards tuition and lessons at the conservatory through The Juilliard Pre-College Program.
Along with ministering and performing, Boyce has a passion for raising up a studio of fine, dedicated violinists. With over ten years of teaching experience, Boyce has held an assistantship to Margaret Pressley at the Indiana University’s Summer String Academy, has been a faculty member at the Marrowstone-in-the-City Music Festival, and has been an apprentice at the MasterWorks Festival in Indiana. Her students have won competitions, soloed with orchestras, and made it into All Northwest.
Recording is an avenue Anna-Ruth enjoys pursuing and has recorded for John Schreiner in LA, played on film scores, albums, and has produced her first CD.
